Never underestimate the power of storytelling.
I’m a storyteller, who is in the process of working on their first novel and developing their career as a writer. When I’m not writing about heroes and villains on distant worlds, I’m usually deeply engrossed in a story, especially those that capture authentic human experiences. Well-crafted stories have the power to make us feel a wide range of emotions, from sadness to happiness, sorrow to joy, despair to hope and everything in between. They highlight the best, and worst, of humanity. They can inspire us, motivate us, educate us and even change the way we think or how we see the world. I believe stories are one of the few things that connect us all, simply because:
Every person has a story to tell, including me.
This is a record of my personal journey, an unfiltered look at where I’ve been and where I’m heading. It is a place for me to share my experiences, my highs and lows, the lessons I’ve learned along the way and how they’ve shaped me into the person I am. Is there room for improvement? Always. Knowing there is room for bettering myself drives my desire for self-improvement. It is a place where I can share my thoughts and opinions with the world on a wide range of topics. This blog enables me to put myself out there and hopefully connect with like-minded people. If you can relate to my content, that’s great to hear. If it is helpful to you, then that makes it all worth it.
Life is the story you write, so take control of it.
I’m a naturally creative person who has more ideas than they could ever realistically hope to use. I don’t believe there are good or bad ideas but rather it comes down to knowing how and when to implement them that determines their success. I am a deep thinker who likes to question things, wanting to understand why things are as they are and often wonder if there is a better alternative. I’m always keen to learn new things and challenge myself in different ways, especially in how I view the world, changing my mind when presented with evidence. The jobs I’ve had haven’t offered me many opportunities to express my creativity in any meaningful way. Writing is how I express my creativity and I find it therapeutic. Writing and creativity have been an integral part of who I am for as long as I can remember.
I’m beginning to find my voice, which makes me…me.
I’m finding my place in the world.
I’m building my confidence.
I’m writing my story.
